Intel Socket LGA 2011 Quiet CPU Coolers - Quiet CPU Fans - CPU Heatsinks
Acoustic PC now provides ultra quiet high-performance CPU cooling fans and heatsinks solutions for Intel's all new Socket LGA 2011, also called
Socket R. It is the most recent CPU socket by Intel. LGA 2011 supersedes and replaces Intel's LGA 1366 (Socket B) in both the high-end and
high-perfoemance performance desktop market areas. The socket has 2011 protruding pins thus called socket 2011. Pins touch contact points on
the underside of the processor and has a totaly new design as far as bigger size as well as mounting the CPU processor on the mainboard it self.
Socket 2011 uses QPI technolgy to connect the CPU to either additional CPUs in a dual socket system, or to add-in chipsets. The CPU handles
northbridge functions, such as memory control, PCIe control, DMI, FDI, and other functions integrated onto the chip itself.
The socket was released on the 14th of November 2011, and supports Sandy Bridge E-series processors with 4 memory channels of DDR3-1600,
as well as, 40× PCIe 2.0 or 3.0 lanes. The Extreme Edition processor supports six cores with 15 MB of shared L3 cache on a ring bus, a
quad-channel DDR3 memory controller and two QPI links. LGA 2011 motherboards have either 4 or 8 DIMM slots which allows for a maximum
support of 32GB, 64GB or 128GB of memory of total memory making this processor an excellent choice for Audio and video rendering, capable of
handling extreme loads and gaming applications. Socket 2011 also has to ensure platform scalability beyond eight cores and 20 MB of cache.
